Chris Scheitle, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor - Sociology
Dr. Scheitle received his Ph.D. in Sociology from Penn State University. He has substantial experience in conducting survey research. Dr. Scheitle has been PI or co-PI on four National Science Foundation projects featuring the collection of original survey data from both organizations and individuals. He has also published three books and over sixty articles, many of them featuring the analysis of survey data.

Katie Corcoran, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor - Sociology
Dr. Corcoran received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Washington with
Certification in Social Statistics, from the Center for Statistics and the Social
Sciences (CSSS). She is an Assistant Professor of Sociology in the Department of
Sociology and Anthropology at West Virginia University. She has assisted with the
development and execution of several surveys and has used survey data extensively
in her own research. She has published two books and over 25 articles.

Taylor Remsburg, B.A.
Graduate Research Assistant
Taylor Remsburg received her B.A. in Sociology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Political Science from Mount Saint Mary’s University in May of 2019. She began her graduate studies at West Virginia University in August of 2019. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Sociology to be followed by a Doctorate in Sociology. Taylor is primarily interested in how women internalize toxic masculinity. Specifically, she is interested in how toxic masculinity affects women’s perceptions of themselves and other women. She has explored dynamics of this topic briefly in her research assistantship with Dr. Lisa Dilks, where she studied interactions between gender, team performance, and leadership. She is currently a graduate research assistant for the Survey Research Center.
